Welcoming Lord Stanley's Cup to Huron County...
"I’m excited to announce that on Thursday, July 25th I will have the Stanley Cup with me to celebrate with all of you. Our day will start with a parade at 9:30 am in Seaforth (Seaforth Fire Department) from there, we will make our way to the Seaforth arena where I will be taking pictures until 11:30 am.
Following this we will make our way to Goderich for another parade starting at 1:00 pm and ending at the Goderich YMCA where I will be taking pictures until 3:30 pm."
The Royal Canadian Navy is visiting communities along the St. Lawrence Seaway and Great Lakes as part of the annual Great Lakes Deployment.
Goderich Harbour will host HMCS Oriole, a two mast tall sailing ship used by the RCN for training and public outreach. The ship will be in port July 26th to July 29th and then will continue on its Great Lakes tour.
HMCS Oriole was built in 1921, and brought into navy service as a basic training vessel during the Second World War. At age 96, it is the oldest commissioned vessel in the navy.
Chantry Chinook Classic Salmon Derby from July 27th to August 11th. Lake Huron's largest fishing Derby! 1st prize: $15,000. Many Prizes and special fishing days: Ladies Days, Senior Days, Kids Day. On Saturday, June 8, 2019 the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre is hosting the 4th Annual “Better Together” Ride to End Hunger.
There will be 3 routes of 10 km, 50 km and 100 km leaving from and returning to 39978 Crediton Road followed by a BBQ lunch.
